Flomax is used for to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate--a condition technically known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH.

How Flomax is usually taken
Take this medication as your physician prescribed. Tamsulosin is usually taken once a day, approximately one-half hour after the same meal each day with a full glass of water. Do not crush tablet.

Potential Side Effects of Flomax
Some possible side effects include: Abnormal ejaculation, back pain, chest pain, cough, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, infection, nausea, runny nose, sinus problems, sleepiness, sore throat, or weakness. Contact your physician if any side effects persist.
